The Open Window
I let my life slip by
Through the open window
The one that didn’t catch my eye
Somewhere inside of me
I knew it was there
But even in my wildest dream
I never thought it would cause me such despair
I hunt for my dreams
Though they are broken
I hunt for words
I should have spoken
I let it all slip by
Through the window that didn’t catch my eye
The one I took for granted
And let my life slip past it.

thanks for inspiring again
please accept a small token of respect for your wonderful, unmatched writing
Through the open window in my mind
Only one of its kinds
Angels of memories fly in gay
Get seated in an emperor’s grace
One silent sunny day
Smile curls across my face
They make me laugh
Also make me cry
For they must leave
Leaving it again cold and dry
Leaving me in the deserted hall
In distress and tears
As over the far horizon
The flock disappears
Through the open window in my mind
Only one of its kinds
Through the open window in my mind
Only one of its kinds
Devils of memories barge in too
Create havoc cause turmoil
Letting the long forgotten
Fears and horrors uncoil
They get thrown out
With a muted shout
For them to never come back again
With sinister hopes they came
But the evils of my mind
They can never tame
Through the open window in my mind
Only one of its kinds
Frames and panes of the window
Clutter against the walls
With the steadily flowing breeze of time
No more guests for now
Deserted are the halls
All of them remind me of my fate
They would be back I know
To be treated with love and hate
For now
Deserted are the halls
Frames and panes clutter against the walls
It would remain open
Forever in my mind
Giving me when I need
A quick rewind
In the time
Through the screams and whispers
Of my guests
Narrating tales few of the worst
Few of the best
They come they leave
Through the open window in my mind
Only one of its kinds
